Toward Europe, with a Global Vision

CPHI Milan 2026, the world’s leading exhibition for pharmaceutical ingredients, was held at Fiera Milano from October 6 to 8. As one of the most important global events in the pharmaceutical sector, the exhibition brought together more than 2,000 leading pharmaceutical companies from over 100 countries and more than 60,000 industry professionals to discuss innovation in the global pharmaceutical supply chain and the future of the industry.

Leveraging the geographic and industrial advantages of the Free Trade Port, the Haikou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone presented a delegation of pharmaceutical companies from the park, including Hainan Haiyao, Huayi Taikang, Vant Pharmaceutical, Hailing Pharmaceutical and Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical. Huayan Biotechnology, Shuangcheng Pharmaceutical and Huanglong Pharmaceutical also took part, while other companies attended independently. Together, they comprehensively showcased the strength and innovative dynamism of the “Haikou Pharmaceutical Valley” biomedical industry.

On the first day of the exhibition, the High-Tech Zone hosted a dedicated presentation and networking event at Booth G97, Hall 7, under the theme “Empowering the Global Supply Chain through Innovative Pharmaceutical Technologies: Cooperate with Hainan and Develop the Global Market Together.” The event was aimed at the European pharmaceutical sector and sought to present the cooperation opportunities offered by the Free Trade Port.

The investment promotion team gave a detailed presentation on Hainan’s key policy advantages, including “zero tariffs, low taxation and a simplified tax system,” as well as facilitation of cross-border data flows. Focusing on the import of drugs and medical devices and the zone’s role as a two-way hub for international expansion, the team comprehensively introduced the park’s one-stop industrial service system, covering the entire chain from R&D and incubation to clinical evaluation, testing and inspection, and production and distribution.

During the event, representatives from leading industry companies including Siemens and Sinovac shared their experiences, while Chinese and foreign companies such as Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Hanfang and Korea’s VISIONMED LTD actively participated. The exhibition also arranged one-to-one business matchmaking meetings, successfully creating an efficient and practical platform for dialogue and cooperation between Hainan and the European pharmaceutical sector.

Intensive Business Meetings to Expand Cooperation Networks in Europe

The Europe trip followed a dual-track strategy of “exhibition participation and exchanges + direct visits.” Taking advantage of the international exchange opportunities, the delegation visited Elga (EuroGroup), Grandall Italy, the headquarters of the Zambon Group and other well-known companies, as well as the Board of Statutory Auditors of ASST Melegnano and Martesana, the Italy-China Foundation, the Italy Representative Office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Italy. The meetings covered policy support, industrial park linkages, cross-border investment and industrial collaboration, helping to build consensus and lay a solid foundation for future cross-border industrial linkages and concrete cooperation.

In the future, the Haikou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone will continue to follow up on the quality business leads encountered at the Milan exhibition and will keep providing linkage services and support for project landing. It will also continue to leverage the advantages of the Free Trade Port’s international opening platform, coordinate investment attraction and the international expansion of enterprises, steadily strengthen the “Haikou Pharmaceutical Valley” industrial brand, and promote the deep integration of the park’s biomedical industry into global industrial, supply and innovation chains.
