At around 11:30 a.m. on August 19, the Chinese cargo ship Xinchen Dayun departed Nanshan Port in Sanya for Vietnam, becoming the first vessel to clear outbound customs since the port area opened to international shipping.
The State Council of PRC earlier authorized the start of international operations at Sanya Port's Nanshan, Yinggehai, and Qingshui Bay port areas beginning July 3, 2026, forming a coordinated network of internationally accessible port areas in the Sanya Economic Circle.
Following advance notice of the vessel's departure, the Sanya Immigration Inspection Station developed a customized clearance plan. By verifying documents in advance and streamlining inspection processes, the station enabled the vessel to depart promptly after clearance and minimized its time in port.
Nanshan Port is a multi-purpose port equipped for direct cargo loading, roll-on/roll-off cargo truck movements, and petroleum activities. Its first outbound foreign-trade operation enhances Sanya's international shipping capacity and creates a new maritime logistics connection linking the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) to Southeast Asia and global markets.
