Island-wide special customs operations of the Hainan Free Trade Port will commence on December 18, 2025. In the run-up to this important event, a symposium on the publication of the Chinese and English language versions of a new book covering one hundred common questions on the topic was held in Beijing.

The newly released book, titled ‘Special Customs Operations in Hainan Free Trade Port 100 Q&As’ offers comprehensive answers to a hundred frequently asked questions across eleven main topics related to the upcoming special customs operations of the Hainan FTP. The authoritative and practical text has an easy to understand Q&A format that clearly explains the core logic and policy highlights of the development of the Hainan FTP, opening an important window for domestic and international readers to understand and participate in the future development of the FTP.

The Chinese version is jointly published by the People’s Publishing House and the Hainan Publishing House. There are two editions of the English language version, one published jointly by the Foreign Languages Press and the New Classic Press (UK), and one by the Hainan Publishing House.

The director of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration stated that the release of the Chinese and English language versions of the book is well-timed, and that the story of Hainan’s reform and opening up to the world will continue to be told, creating a win-win international public opinion space for Hainan to develop as a globally influential free trade port with Chinese characteristics.
