This is Hainan: Discovering Mysteries Season 5 will debut July 15, 

inviting you to explore the mysteries of biodiversity in the Hainan tropical rainforest. 

We can’t wait to show you all the wonders of the island!

On this season of This is Hainan: Discovering Mysteries viewers will explore different parts of the Hainan tropical rainforest, with filming locations including Diaoluo Maintain, Bawangling, Wuzhi Mountain, Limu Mountain, Jianfengling, and Baihualing, following along with a wide variety of rare and protected wild animals including the Hainan Leopard Cat, Hainan Partridge, Hainan Peacock Pheasant, Keeled Box Turtle, Black Giant Squirrel, Asian Palm Civet Cat, Hainan Giant Flying Squirrel, Masked Palm Civet, red junglefowl, wild pigs, and more as they hunt, forage, mate, care for their young, and fight to survive in the tropical island rainforest.

Focusing on the biodiversity and authenticity of the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park, the This is Hainan: Discovering Mysteries series has won a number of province and national level awards. The first four seasons have received around 200 million views globally, telling Hainan’s ecological protection story to the world. Unlike previous seasons, Season 5 will explore the inner world of rainforest animals from the perspective of Nicki Johnson, the English language series translator, showcasing the unique beauty of the biodiversity of Hainan's tropical rainforest.

This season consists of 12 episodes, with two episodes each week posted on a number domestic and international platforms every Tuesday and Friday, including the Hainan International Communication Network (www.hicn.cn) and the official Hainan International Media Center WeChat account, WeChat channel, Facebook, X, YouTube, and Instagram, and the official WeChat account, WeChat channel, Douyin, Kuaishou, and Weibo accounts of Hinews and Nanguo Metropolis, the Hinews App, Hinews Network, and more.

With direction from the Publicity Department of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and academic support from Hainan Normal University, This is Hainan: Discovering Mysteries Season 5, co-produced by the Hainan International Media Center, Hinews, and Nanguo Metropolis Daily, continues to showcase Hainan's unparalleled natural ecological environment, filming Hainan's natural ecological resources, tropical rainforest species, and scientific research and protection, and showing the world the vast development achievements of the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park and the ongoing work to protect Hainan’s incredible biodiversity through a micro-documentary lens.
