On the morning of November 25, media journalists from 33 Global South countries, including Russia and Ethiopia, visited the Yangpu International Container Terminal, continuing to document the port's rapid development from diverse perspectives.
As a key component of the Hainan Free Trade Port's construction, Yangpu Port has leveraged its unique geographical advantages, advancing a series of major projects and policy innovations to gradually build a port and shipping logistics system with strong international competitiveness.

Standing before the floor-to-ceiling windows of the 9th-floor conference room in the terminal's office building, the journalists witnessed the spectacular operations below: towering quay cranes moved with precision under remote-control commands, containers were swiftly loaded and unloaded onto oceangoing vessels, and every step flowed seamlessly, an impressive display of the scale and efficiency of a modern port.

Leonardo Pérez, a reporter from Uruguay's La República, remarked, "The port's handling capacity is astonishing! It is not only reflects China's extraordinary infrastructure capabilities but has also become a vital link connecting trade between the Americas and Asia." His comment highlights Yangpu Port's hard strength as an international shipping hub.
To date, Yangpu Port has opened 57 container shipping routes, covering major global markets, including North America, Southeast Asia, and India–Pakistan, forming a dual-circulation shipping network for both domestic and foreign trade.
In addition, the port has attracted numerous domestic and international shipping companies and logistics firms by capitalizing on Free Trade Port policies and delivering high-quality services. Through coordinated efforts to optimize supply-chain processes, regional logistics efficiency has been greatly enhanced: this has allowed the establishment of a "sister port" relationship with Abu Dhabi and increased the frequency of direct routes. Additionally, an MoU was signed with PSA Singapore to promote a more open industrial cooperation ecosystem.
Joy Ifeoma Ani from Nigeria's Abuja Broadcasting Corporation observed, "Yangpu Port's model of openness offers a valuable reference for African countries. Through this hub, Nigeria's agricultural and resource products can enter the Asian market more efficiently, fostering mutually beneficial trade."
